3 days Akagera safari is a tour which will take place in the eastern part of Rwanda where you will visit Akagera national park and enjoy a wildlife safari experience and take part in game drives and a boat ride on Lake Ihema.

After the safari in Akagera national park, you will return to Kigali where the tour will end.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1; pick up and drive to Akagera national park

You will be picked up from the airport in Kigali and your guide will welcome you for the safari in Rwanda. After a short briefing, you will start the journey to Akagera national park which will take about 4 hours.

During the visit to Akagera national park, you will engage in an afternoon game drive and explore the savannah plains in search of wildlife species such as waterbucks, impalas, buffalos, giraffes, zebras, lions, hippos among others. After the game drive, you will be driven to the lodge where you will have dinner and spend the night.

Day 2; game drive and Ihema boat ride

Your breakfast will be served early at the lodge ahead of your morning game drive around Akagera national park in search of wildlife species such as lions, giraffes, hyenas, buffalos, waterbucks, impalas, giraffes among others around the savannah plains.

After the morning game drive in Akagera national park, you will also engage in an afternoon boat ride on Lake Ihema where you will enjoy views around the national park and also see hippos, Nile crocodiles, hippos among others. You will return to the lodge after the boat safari and have your dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3; drive to Kigali

After having breakfast at the lodge in Akagera national park, you will be engage in a morning game drive and enjoy another wildlife viewing experience. You will be driven to Kigali city where your guide will drop you off which will bring the tour in Rwanda to an end.
