Bwindi impenetrable forest national park is well known for mountain gorilla tracking safaris. It is at the edge of the Albertine rift valley in south-western Uganda. Bwindi Impenetrable forest national park was designated a UNESCO world heritage site in 1992 due to its biological diversity. It covers 331 sq km area of ancient evergreen tropical rainforests which is a habitat for more than 400 mountain gorillas about half of the world’s mountain gorilla population in the world. The forest is a habitat to over 16 gorilla families which have been habituated for tourism, making Bwindi the best destination for travellers to see mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. Gorilla trekking is the significant tourist activity in the park, and it is a beautiful wildlife experience allowing visitors to see gorillas for 1 hour. Bwindi impenetrable national park has 4 gorilla trekking sectors that is Rushaga, Nkuringo, Buhoma and Ruhija sectors. Uganda also has a fifty gorilla trekking sector called Nyakagezi sector in Mgahinga national park. This packages gives you an option to choose two of the five sectors. However, travellers are best recommended to visit one sector in Bwindi forest and other in Mgahinga national park.

Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable national park
On the 1st day of your 4 Days Double Bwindi gorilla trekking safari, depending on your location in Kampala/Entebbe, you will be picked up to transfer to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park located in the western part of Uganda with approximately 540km from Kampala by road. You will have a stopover at the equator for photography and the experiment and another stopover in Mbarara town for lunch. Proceed to your booked lodge for dinner and overnight stay. Your accommodation will depend on your gorilla trekking sector.

Day 2: fFrst gorilla trekking experience
On the 2nd day of your 4 Days Double Bwindi gorilla trekking safari, enjoy early morning breakfast and transfer to the park headquarters with your packed lunch for briefing by the ranger guides and later head into the forest for your trek. Gorilla trekking in Bwindi takes 2 to 8 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas. These primates roam the park freely and there is no way of telling where they will be for a particular day. On finding them, you will be allowed 1 hour to view and take photos of these gentle primates, enjoy your lunch packs and meet your driver / guide and transfer back to your lodge. The time after trekking can be spent on a village tour or lazing off at the lodge as you savoir the memories of your gorilla trek in Bwindi and prepare for the next day. Day 3: Second gorilla trekking experience in a different sector
After enjoying an early breakfast and transfer to park headquarters for briefing before you set of gorilla trekking. Trekking through the steep, densely forested hills and then finally coming across the gorillas camouflaged in the vegetation is an inspiring and privileged moment. Tracking in the Bwindi forest requires stamina and can often take most of the day and spend an hour in the presence of the gorillas before you return at your meeting point with the driver-guide. Return to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Transfer back to Entebbe and Departure
You will enjoy breakfast and transfer back to Kampala with a stopover in Mbarara town for lunch. Proceed to Kampala/Entebbe arriving in late afternoon. You will be drop off at the hotel in either Kampala/Entebbe as you advise or at Entebbe airport for your onward flight back home. End of Uganda safari
