5 Days Rwanda Wildlife and Chimpanzee trekking Safari
5 Days Rwanda Wildlife and Chimpanzee tracking experience will take you on a safari to explore Akagera national park, which is the only park in Rwanda to see the Big 5 Game. Nyungwe national park on the other hand is the only park in Rwanda where we can see the Chimpanzees and other primates. This safari is an experience which will start with a wildlife safari in Akagera national park where you will take part in a game drive and boat safari. Thereafter, you will also visit Nyungwe forest national park for chimpanzee trekking and a canopy walk and the trip will end with drop off in Kigali.

Detailed itinerary
Day 1; Pick up and drive to Akagera national park
Your guide will pick you up from Kigali and welcome you for your safari in Rwanda. After a short briefing, you will start the journey to Akagera national park where you will be driven to the lodge for lunch.
You will also engage in an afternoon game drive in Akagera national park and search for wildlife species around the savannah plains such as elephants, lions, buffalos, giraffes, hippos, antelopes, rhinos among others. After the game drive, you will be driven to the lodge to have dinner and to spend the night.
Day 2; Morning game drive and boat cruise
After having an early breakfast at the lodge, you will engage in a morning game drive around Akagera national park and enjoy looking for various wildlife species like the big five like elephants, lions, leopards, rhinos and buffalos among others with your guides. You will also see different birds as you explore the different routes in the savannah plains.
In the afternoon, you will engage in a boat ride along Lake Ihema and see wildlife species like elephants, buffalos, hippos and crocodiles along the lake shore. You will also enjoy the beautiful views along the way during the boat safari, after the boat safari, your guide will drive you to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3; Drive to Nyungwe national park
You will have breakfast at the lodge in Akagera national park and your guide will drive you to Nyungwe national park where you will spend the rest of the evening and prepare to have your dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4; Chimpanzee trekking and Canopy walk
After having breakfast at the lodge, you will go to the park headquarters in Nyungwe national park to be briefed about the chimpanzee trekking experience. You will move into the forest with ranger guides as you begin the search for the chimpanzees. After spending time with the chimpanzees in the forest, you will return to the briefing point.
You will also engage in canopy walk experience in Nyungwe forest and enjoy aerial views of the forest and walk along a suspended bridge and during this experience, you will see different bird species and also encounter primates for about 2 hours. After the experience, you will return to the lodge to have your dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5; Drive to Kigali
Your guide will drive you from Nyungwe national park to Kigali after breakfast and check out at the lodge. You will be dropped off at the Kigali international airport which will bring the safari in Rwanda to an end.
