Bwindi impenetrable forest national park is well known for mountain gorilla tracking safaris. The forest is a habitat to about 16 gorilla families which have been habituated for tourism, making Bwindi the best destination for travellers to see mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. Gorilla trekking is the significant tourist activity in the park, and it is a beautiful wildlife experience allowing visitors to see gorillas for 1 hour and up to 4 hours through gorilla habituation experience. Bwindi forest is also providing a home to a diversity of flora and fauna including 346 species of tropical forest birds including 23 species endemic to the Albertine rift valley and 120 species of mammals. Other wildlife includes 220 butterflies, 100 ferns, 163 species of trees, 27 species of frogs as well as 27 geckos and reptiles.
Jinja city on the other hand is one of the top destinations in Uganda for water adventurous experiences given that Jinja is located near the shores of a section of Lake Victoria and the Nile River where we find the source of River Nile. Detailed safari
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable national park (8-9 hours’ drive)
On the 1st day of your 5 Days Jinja city and Gorilla trekking experience, depending on your location in Kampala/Entebbe, you will be picked up to transfer to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park located in the western part of Uganda with approximately 540km from Kampala by road. You will have a stopover at the equator for photography and the experiment and another stopover in Mbarara town for lunch. Proceed to your booked lodge for dinner and overnight stay. Your accommodation will depend on your gorilla trekking sector.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking experience – Ruhija sector and transfer to Mbarara
Enjoy early morning breakfast and transfer to the park headquarters with your packed lunch for briefing by the ranger guides and later head into the forest for your trek. Gorilla trekking in Bwindi takes 2 to 8 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas. These primates roam the park freely and there is no way of telling where they will be for a particular day. On finding them, you will be allowed 1 hour to view and take photos of these gentle primates, enjoy your lunch packs and meet your driver / guide and transfer back to your lodge.
After gorilla trekking and receiving to your certificate, set off for Mbarara city. It’s a 5 hours’ drive and upon arrival, check-in at your booked hotel for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer to Jinja city (6-7 hours’ drive) – Source of the Nile visit
After breakfast, set off to transfer to Jinja city. It’s a 6-7 hours’ drive with en-route stop in Kampala city where you will have your lunch. The drive through to the Eastern part of Uganda is remarkable driving through Mabira forest, tea and sugar plantations in Lugazi and upon arrival in Jinja, connect to visit the source of the Nile and spend your evening at leisure. Thereafter connect to your booked accommodation for relaxation, dinner and overnight;

Day 4: Whole day white water rafting experience
On the 4thd day of your 5 Days Jinja city and Gorilla trekking experience, early morning after breakfast, connect for a briefing about water rafting experience before you start. Rafting is a whole day’s activity. All participants are required to leave their valuable and dry clothes in the car with staff. You will be given orientation and supervision about safety and what to expect by the guides who are very experienced and knowledgeable about the area and rapids. You will be given an opportunity to choose between an easy or more difficult route depending your ability however noting that rafting requires no experience. Those who are not prepared for the Grade 4 and 5 Levels can opt for the Grade 3 rafting. After rafting, return to your hotel for relaxation and spend your evening at leisure. Day 5: Horseback riding safari – return to Kampala
After breakfast, spend the morning on optional activities such as horseback riding, Quad biking, jinja craft shop market just to mention a few. Thereafter, embark on your drive back to Kampala or Entebbe with en-route lunch and the driver will drop you off at a location you advise or at Entebbe airport for your onward flight to your next destination.
