Twiga safari lodge is a mid-range accommodation located in Mubaako inside Murchison falls national park along the southern bank of the River Nile on the edge of the park. The lodge is situated at the heart of all the activities carried out in the park as it is a 5 minutes’ drive away from the southern bank of the park – Paraa. The lodge can be accessed by road transport from Kampala via Masindi to the park which takes approximately 6-5 hours’ drive (305 kms) through Kichumbanyobo gate and an hour flight from Entebbe international airport to close Bugungu or Pakuba airstrip then few minutes to drive to the lodge.
Twiga Safari Lodge aims at providing clients with comfortable accommodation in the serene and relaxing environment of Uganda’s wildlife. On site, guests are able see some monkeys and various birds freely moving through the grounds of the lodge. Twiga Safari Lodge is a mid-range lodge with 8 exclusive cottages situated on the bank of the river Nile in Mubaako-Paraa. The guests are able to therefore enjoy a boat ride and or hike to the famous Murchison falls, sport fishing, bird watching at the lake Albert delta, and game drives through the national park across the river.
The cottages at Twiga safari lodge are well decorated, elevated off the ground and furnished with private en-suite facilities of clean flushing toilets, hot and cold showers, solar energy available, wooden chairs and tables, mosquito nets, complementary bottled water, ironing service and many more. Cottages are well equipped with comfortable clean and washed beddings queen sized bed. Rooms are in different categories and configured as single, double, twin, triple and family rooms with different cost ranging from USD 150 a night and above
The rooms have sitting areas, terraces and wooden balconies overlooking the breathtaking views over Albert Nile, Murchison falls park and surrounding area. There is fireplace at the lodge where guests relax in the evenings as they enjoy the sunset and share experiences about the safaris not only that it provides warmth during cold evenings.
Twiga safari lodge offers more services and facilities such as a restaurant in the main building that where they serve continental meals African- inspired meals that meets guests’ appetite, Buffet breakfast, picnic lunch and dinner and have a well-stocked bar with a wide range of beverages served by well trained, friendly and organized staff. The bar with shared lounge with variety of drinks, local brew, cocktail drinks, wines, spirits and International beers that you can sip with relaxing overlooking the stunning view over the Nile while also viewing the lodge especially antelopes, Uganda kobs, and Hippos.
The lodge has a swimming pool that cools off the afternoon heat of the park given that Murchison falls national park is one of the hottest destinations in Uganda. Relax on the sun deck /balconies which provide scenic vintage point for viewing variety of wildlife while drinking water during the day and around the lodge, free parking space available, and Laundry services are offered at a cost.
