The lodge is surrounded by riparian forest vegetation and acacias Savannah.

Ishasha Jungle lodge is one of the Uganda Jungle lodges limited lodges. This company was incorporated in August 2011 as the investment branch of Destination Jungle Limited in the field of the construction and management of tourist accommodation in Uganda. Uganda Jungle Lodges follows the general concepts and strategies of the eco-lodges for what concerns the architecture of the lodges, the utilization of the traditional and local knowledge, the respect of the environment and involvement of the local communities. According to the company, all lodges are built using especially local materials which are available in the area of the lodges and which are typical of that area. The environment in which the lodge is built is considered a resource in which the lodge is naturally and harmoniously embedded in. All energy used in the lodges is clean and sustainable, minimizing any environmental impact. Not only the environment is not compromised by the lodge, but actually it is improved and restored to become central to the beauty of the lodge itself. Therefore, also the location matters, with attention given to landscapes, natural habitats, tropical forests, Savannah or lakes. The waste management system looks at all possible ways to offset environmental degradation, by adopting the principles of re-utilization and recycling for all the materials which are disposed off.

Ishasha Jungle Lodge is situated in the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, an area which is commonly known for the famous “tree climbing lions”. It is also the best area of the park for wildlife photography. The game drive will give you the chance to enjoy the savannah and sights include the lions, leopards, elephants, hyenas, buffalos, giant forest hog, different species of antelopes like Topi, waterbuck and Ugandan kob and many more. Ishasha Jungle Lodge is a small eco-friendly lodge, comprised of about 10 beautiful rooms entirely made with local materials and African art, with its raised en-suite wooden deck cottages, spacious rooms and bathroom, all finished with canvas. Rooms are well furnished and decorated to meet guest’s personal fondness with mosquito nets, air conditioning, WIFI, driers for drying hair and other facilities.

Rooms contain en suite facilities like; flushing toilets, hot and cold showers with excellent and comfortable beddings with king sized bed. Rooms varies in different sizes and different categories depending on deluxe, standard, executive in singles, double, twin and family rooms with costs ranging from USD 300.

The restaurant offers international standard menu and dining area. The eco-lodge Ishasha Jungle lodge uses clean energy and power. Solar systems give 24 hours’ power and hot water to all cottages. All bulbs are of low energy consumption. Solar fridge provides safe storage and cold drinks. Cooking is provided with clean sources like gas and alternative charcoal. Attention is given to waste management disposal and recycling of any materials. Water is safe as it comes from a borehole.

How to access the Ishasha Jungle lodge?

Ishasha Jungle Lodge is located in Kihihi Sub- County of Kanungu District, along Kameme Road, in Kameme village, 2 km off Katokye gate of Queen Elizabeth National Park. The lodge is easily accessible following the signposts along the Ishasha Road between Katunguru and Ishasha sector / Kihihi town of the Queen Elizabeth National Park. The lodge is located a few km away from Kihihi Airstrip, where are landing domestic flights from Entebbe Airport.
