Buhoma Haven Lodge is a spacious site lying above Buhoma village, a 5-minute drive from the main road, and this elevated location guarantees best views across Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. It offers 6 beautifully designed twin/double cottages, self-contained en suite safari tents, 3 self-contained cottages, and 2 non-self-contained twin cottage bandas.1 family cottages, all self-contained en suite and merging simple elegance with local materials.

Unspoiled and untamed, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is one of the world’s last remaining rich ecosystems. It is spread over a series of steep ridges and valleys that form a protective habitat for the mountain gorillas, the main attractions in this pristine jungle. The Buhoma section of the forest is home to five mountain gorilla families. Buhoma Community Haven Lodge is located less than a quarter a mile from Buhoma trailhead, providing a great vantage point to starting the excellent gorilla activity at Buhoma trailhead.

Buhoma Community Haven Lodge commands spectacular and uninterrupted views of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. The Lodge is owned by Buhoma Mukono Community Development Association, which guarantees you elevated community experiences. The lodge uses green energy and keeps a sustainable program with neighbouring communities.

The lodge lounge is open-ended to allow guests to marvel at the pristine scenery while relaxing, having a drink, and tucking into delicious meals by the in-house chef. There’s a little shop stocking African craft souvenirs and postcards to take back home for your memory bank.

Buhoma Community Haven Lodge accommodation consists of 6 en-suite chalets and one en-suite family cottage. The rooms are designed and constructed out of green material to reflect that eco-friendly jungle ambiance. Each is elevated off the ground to show off the mighty Bwindi Impenetrable Forest’s enchanting views, elevating the occupies high up the forest canopies. The naturalistic design places you in the centre of the massive misty jungle’s night light.

A large comfortable bed dominates the spaciously-large rooms with falling bugs net to protect you from the unwanted forest bugs while you snore away the African nights. You have a wide enough veranda to spend your spectacular evening views.

The two-storied lounge is just a short stroll from the guest cottages. The lounge contains well-cushioned wood-framed seating around coffee tables, a few stools, some books and games, and a cozy fireplace.

Visit the nearby local Bwindi Community Hospital to learn how it helps improve the quality of local lives. Maybe pledge your support?

A visit to Ride 4 a Women, a local organization supporting native women struggling at home with issues associated with HIV, domestic violence, and poverty, is soul-enriching. Visitors are invited to view the women working at the local centre – sewing, weaving, and learning new skills to make a living and help educate their children.

The Batwa cultural experience is a popular activity with guests at Buhoma. Batwa Development Program conducts whole-day experiences around the tribe’s historical lifestyle in the forest, like hunting and gathering skills.

Uganda Wildlife Authority organizes guided nature hikes along defined forest trails. Taking this walk guarantees you a fresh experience of forest flora, fauna, and wildlife such as monkeys, primates, forest hogs, elephants, and over 23 Albertine endemic bird species. The most popular attraction is the 3-4 hours’ hike to the waterfall and the long walking safari hiking by Nkuringo walking safari across Bwindi Impenetrable Forests through the oldest trails; Kasashari River and Ivy Trails.
