Since the outbreak of Coronavirus pandemic in Uganda in March 2020 when Uganda registered the first victim of the pandemic, the tourism industry in Uganda has greatly suffered. The country went on a lockdown for several months and to date the country has suffered from 2 lockdowns that greatly affected the inflow of tourists in Uganda. Although the situation is slowly recovering with the effective vaccination of citizens and strict SOPs implemented by the Uganda government, the Uganda tourism is still struggling to recover from the big fall.
As Elephant Whispers Safaris, we encourage our guests to fully follow the Uganda ministry of health rules when they decide to travel during the pandemic, these rules include;
Wearing your mask at all times. Most especially when you are among the local people.
Always have your personal sanitizer at all times. Although this is provided to you when traveling with us but keep your personal sanitizer with you
Usually, It’s difficult to isolate yourself from other travellers but where necessary, you are required to social distance. To support this rule, as Elephant Whispers Safaris, we only take half capacity of tourists in a given safari vehicle. We have also suspended public group tours that are planned by the company and only accept private group tours arranged, private individual tours by the tour leader or agent.
Therefore, Elephant Whispers Safaris in compliance to the given health and safety guidelines, operational requirements and regulatory obligations, we wish to inform our esteemed guests that we have new booking policies that will be applied during the COVID – 19 periods and these new guidelines will only apply during the COVID – 19 pandemic periods. These include as below;
In case of failure to travel during to Covid 19, guests will be allowed to postpone their travel dates at any other given date when the can travel for their trip.
There will be no extra charges/fees for already confirmed trips in case of any postponement due to Covid 19 pandemic.
Cancellation of the trip will not be accepted as initial payments made towards the safari is directed to making reservations.
Visitors must be able to adapt to the new travel restrictions brought about Covid 19. Guests will make payment of their own quarantine and Covid 19 tests that will be required of them upon travel to Uganda.

Uganda’s current situation is that tourism is open, although some with specific inbound restrictions, please endeavour to read travel restrictions and entry requirements before you confirm your booking.
