Kikorongo Safari lodge is one of the luxury wildlife safari lodges located in Kasese, Mpondwe road about 25 kilometres south of Kasese town across the famous Queen Elizabeth National Park and 38 kilometres east of Mpondwe. Mpondwe is the town at the international border of Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo in the southern part of Uganda. The lodge offers a bespoke Uganda Safaris tours with a promise of luxury in the wilderness also providing genuinely stunning wildlife and wilderness experiences, engaging in the original spirit and essence of ‘safari’: an abundance of birds, wildlife safaris, and a guarantee of privacy with the highest standards of professional guiding, in a luxurious and authentic safari environment
The Lodge sits directly at the Equator and it’s strategically located on one of the steep hills in Kasese beautifully overlooking both Lake George and Lake Edward, surrounded by Rwenzori Mountains, Rwenzori National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park and the famous Kazinga channel; which attracts a varied range of animals and birds, with one of the world’s largest concentrations of hippos and numerous Nile crocodile.
In April 2018, the Thembo family set foot on the steep escarpments of Kikorongo and appreciated the land. It was in that moment that Kikorongo Safari Lodge was birthed with the promise of providing luxury in the wilderness.
The lodge is still under construction however once completed, Kikorongo Safari Lodge will comprise of 15 uniquely designed cottages spread out on over 15 hectares of an incredibly steep landscape, and each Lodge will be built with a custom view of the lakes and surrounding landscape. All hosted guests will have to hike to their cottages which will provide for an experience in itself because of the rich escapements on either side of the hill. The design of the cottages provides for privacy through the natural untouched bush surrounding each one of them.
Kikorongo Safari lodge houses about 3 different types of accommodation ranging from our luxury tents located at the highest point of the escarpments, Edge Kikorongo, the intimate cottages, and finally an upscale safari camping area.
Tented Luxury Cottages
The wilderness luxury Tents are set within a landscape of steep slopes of the Kasese hills with magnificent views of Queen Elizabeth National Park, nestled between Lake George and Lake Kikorongo. An Eco-lodge designed with local materials, mountain Rwenzori rock, river stone, handmade ceramic tiles and oven-red clay bricks. Staying in the tented luxury cottages offers a true wilderness experience with a touch of luxury. The cottages are strategically located with a view of Queen Elizabeth national park, amenities like breakfast, and wifi. It has occupancy of a family of 4 people, 2 adults and 2 children.
Edge Luxury Intimate Cottages
These cottages are situated at the edge of the premise; the intimate cottages are a bird lover’s hideout. The rooms are self-contained and boast with a full view of both Lake Kikorongo and Lake George. The cottages are strategically located at a beautiful vantage point adjacent to the main reception area and are ideal for guests who are not comfortable hiking. The Rift valley tent camp Area
Kikorongo Rift Valley camp is set at the bottom of the lodge sandwiched between two escarpments with a breath-taking view of the lodge.
