Detailed itinerary

Day 1: pick up and drive to Nyungwe national park for Canopy walk

Your guide will pick you up from Kigali and welcome you for the safari in Rwanda. You will have a short briefing and start the journey to Nyungwe national park which will take about 5 to 6 hours with a stop for lunch along the way.

After lunch, you will proceed to Nyungwe national park where you will engage in a canopy walk and enjoy a walk along the suspended bridge and enjoy views of the forest canopy and also see different primate species like vervet monkeys, black and white colobus monkey and also see various bird species. After the activity, you will be driven to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking and drive to Kigali

You will start the day with an early breakfast served at the lodge in Nyungwe national park and proceed to the park headquarters where you will be briefed about chimpanzee trekking. You will also be assigned ranger guides to accompany you for the search of the chimpanzees.

As you explore Nyungwe forest, you will see various primates and bird species as you walk along different trails in the forest. You will spend 1 hour in the presence of the chimpanzees in the forest and watch their behaviour closely. After completing the chimpanzee trekking experience, you will have lunch and start the journey to Kigali where your guide will drop you off which will bring the tour to an end.
